THE PROBLEM

Tom and Lana had lived in their late 1970s Rancho Penasquitos tract home for over 20 years. It was well-built — but tired. Everything needed to be updated, and the scope of the project was significant. They went to the home show at the convention center looking for a general contractor they could trust with a major remodel. They didn't find one — until they were on their way out and walked past Mike's booth.

THE SOLUTION

San Diego Remodeling Pros took on the full scope — kitchen, two bathrooms completely gutted to the studs, two bedrooms, living room, laundry room, fireplace, new windows, new moldings, and new flooring throughout. Designer Susan Matanguihan guided Tom and Lana through every material selection, combining tile and wood flooring into a cohesive look that tied the whole home together.

One of the bathrooms was rebuilt with a stunning curbless shower with dual shower heads. The fireplace — once all white brick with a white mantle — became a gorgeous focal point that Lana says she loves looking at every single day.

Throughout the entire project, Mike kept Tom and Lana fully informed. If he said the tile guy would be there Tuesday, the tile guy was there Tuesday. Every sub was professional, kept the house clean, and gave Tom and Lana full confidence throughout.

THE RESULT

A tired 1970s home — completely transformed. Every room updated, every detail considered, and a quality of work Tom and Lana describe as spectacular.
